"The Yes Book" coming this fall!
So honored that my illustration is featured on the web site of "The Yes Book" by Exult Road, as well as the poem featured in the book.

Robert Burridge Studio Mentor Workshop

I attended Robert Burridge Studio Mentor Workshop in Arroyo Grande, CA, at his own studio in September 2014. It was like one of my dreams came true!
He is such a great mentor, not only talented in art but to teach, to communicate, to inspire and to encourage students. Some students were repeater attracted to his caring and charming personality as well as his skills. In the class, 7 of us, in the 40s to 60s, all acted like small kids who love to paint! Full of laughter and scream, enthusiasm, energy everyday.
My goal was to improve color scheme, and here I was trying out new sets of colors by his wonderful method!

Blue-Eyed Son live in Tokyo!
It was nice to meet the artist and to see him play live in my town! On this night he played at "Yagi ni Kiku?", a chic yet cozy cafe & bar in Daikanyama. As he started playing, he took us to Venice Beach, turning the venue into outdoor stage on the beach where we could hear surf sound and feel ocean breeze.
Blue-Eyed Son rocks!

Snap to Grid 2009, shots of reception

Here are some shots of the reception on 11/27/2009. I wish I could've been there.
"The reception was an absolute smash, the crowd was enormous. The work was exceptional this year, there was lots of great art and photography by many kinds of people. Our attendance for the run has been quite good, more people than usual have been stopping by the gallery to view the exhibit." - Rex Bruce, Director, Los Angeles Center For Digital Art

Icelandic Butterflies
Gallery: A People's Guide to Icelandic Butterflies http://www.icelandicbutterflies.com/index.php?/gallery/

I found another interesting project, in which my daughter and I could both try. It is about drawing / designing Icelandic Butterflies-to-be. Butterflies are never found in Iceland yet, but are expected to arrive in the near future because of the global warming phenomenon.
I've never painted a butterfly elaborately, in another words, I have never studied their physical figures, (yes, a bit gross to me to be honest) but they are amazing creatures. And it is a great exercise to draw symmetrical, too!
Attached are our butterflies. We are both into colorful butterflies.

Snap to Grid

I once lived in one of those artist lofts in the early 90's, where I created the most of my artworks, to look back. But I couldn't stay too long and moved to Redondo Beach, which was nicer to live, but ended up less stimulative for creating art (for me).
Too bad I can't be present at the show this time. I wish to visit L.A. more frequently in the near future, though!
